Some of the great pieces on display.
Marc Chagall is considered one of the masters. The Albertina in Vienna is showing one of the most impressive collections ever put on display (until Feb 2025). Over 100 of his works can be seen, and it really is incredible.
My photos above don’t do the works justice. His recurring themes include birth, death, daily life in his village (he actually moved around surprisingly a lot in his life, but painted a lot about his early life), religion, and love. The colors and palette are instantly recognizable.
It was great to see over the Xmas break in Vienna.
